Eric swings his irons fast enough to hit his 8 iron over 155 yards, but rarely hits it as far as he should. In the video above, watch as Eric learns to deliver a more powerful blow. Now, Eric is on his way to hitting his irons as far as he should.
Video Transcription:
we started out hitting 8 irons and just
noticing that they were launching pretty
high so we started out looking at launch
angle we’re launching it at 23 or so and
you’re gonna see on the screen there
that your optimal or an 8-iron should be
so when the launch angle is high that
hits not as solid so your ball speed is
is loving the spin goes on it’s just a
more friction type of load so when you
look at the video club that gets under
the handle really fast then even lays
back very quickly so we fast forward
what we did we start hitting some like a
little chip type shots first ones didn’t
go real well or I would just kind of
dribble it because we haven’t ever hit a
ball with just one hand let me see that
already you’re igniting it a little bit
at the handles way ahead just be able to
pull with the left hand so now when we
start getting a few more solid ones I
like to put that other hand on there are
getting some impact where the club
shafts not a link back as quickly it
will lay back it always has to but then
that ends up putting more interview into
the ball so now you start seeing for
that speed of 45 miles an hour
got way up ball speed really low launch
but yours hit Miller here you turn to
that that 8-iron to like up for at least
on these little slow ones so building
speed you start to have a lot more
efficiency
that’s pickle in this plane team so now
the sudden you start getting the
launches in the 20s the ball speed goes
where it’s supposed to so it’s 76 now
you’re starting to get the speed that
you’re supposed to have or the ball
speed they’re supposed to have and the
handles not get the club as I get in the
hand
fast so that’s the whole idea so just
keep working your way up where when you
sharp increasing the effort and you
haven’t failed like on this one go
backwards and have a success all right
so what should end up happening is your
you should be able to hit at the same
distance as if you were before full and
I should be able to do it a lot easier
and then your full should go up but it
might be a little while before the full
you get the good impact good contact
with the fool you just got to work
through this starting slow.
