Welcome inside the Profectus Golf studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Do you ever mess up that partial distance shot? The one that doesn’t require full speed and effort. The reason is because you only practice that full swing, where you load into your back leg, transfer a bunch of weight and hit hard. This shot requires more control, not power. If you want more control, start with your weight on your front leg at the beginning. Get 60% , maybe 70% of your weight over on your front leg. Give your knee a little flex. Make your backswing, keeping your weight over there and then push your weight forward on the way through. Just hit little partial shots, about 60 yards. Do that and you’ll have good contact and your ball will go the right distance. You won’t catch it fat and you’ll be on the green ready to make your birdie.
59 and a half (not bad).
